The wonderful Beacon Show is still on until October 2nd. If you haven’t spotted any of the 10 installations get yourself down to the beach!

The show is the latest brainchild of SCIP (Seaford Contemporary Illustrators and Printmakers) and consists of ten beacons spread along 2 miles of the Seaford seafront to create an inclusive, accessible, free and sustainable public art trail.

There are also activities to download, workshops, lectures and tours running so check it out on their website and social media accounts The Beacon Show – SCIP (wearescip.co.uk)

The whole show is dedicated to Claire Sumners, founder of Plastic Free Seaford who I’m sure would have loved spending her days on the seafront in view of one or more beacons. I have to give a special mention to Beacon 6 which has a brilliant piece of artwork by Graham Carter and lots of information about protecting our local coastal environment. Go check it out on the beach opposite the end of Dane road.

The Beacon show is sponsored by European Union Regional Development Fund, HM Government, National Lottery Community Fund, Sussex Community Foundation, Rampion Offshore Wind and Cheeky Wipes.
